Paris, 4 November 2008 Visa Europe today announced that a range of Europes leading banks will take part in pilots of its new card with a one-time code solution which was announced a few months ago. Four banks including MBNA, a Bank of America company in the UK, Cornèr Bank in Switzerland, Cal in Israel and IW Bank in Italy will all start to pilot the new solution over the next few months. The Visa card with one-time code offers banks an innovative solution to authenticate consumers through an alpha-numeric display and a 12-button keypad built into a conventional credit, debit or prepaid card. It is a neat solution for consumers to use and also contains a battery designed to last three years. The product has been developed in conjunction with EMUE technologies. Thanks to this product, cardholders will be protected by a secure solution for online shopping, when ordering over the telephone or for online banking. When used with Verified by Visa (VbV) the consumer would not need to register or remember usernames and passwords, instead they would enter their PIN into the card which creates a unique code for a specific purchase or transaction. The card will help in the fight against card-not-present (CNP) fraud in two ways. Firstly, as the one-time code generated is for a specific transaction, once used it cannot be used again by anyone. Secondly a fraudster would need to be able to get hold of a card and know the persons PIN in order to commit fraud. By positioning this breakthrough technology to consumers in Europe, Visa Europe believes this will provide more consumers with greater confidence to shop online and provide its member banks with a unique solution for online and telephone transactions. Iraqi Professors Demand Rights

Iraq, Baghdad University professors are considered by many to be the leaders of Iraqi society. The professor was experiencing many dangers, such as death threats, car bombs, and gangs. Despite all these conditions many professors continued going everyday to their universities, transferring education, culture, and inspiration to their students. During the time of the previous regime Regime time suffered under strict budgets and some stopped teaching and began taking jobs such as taxi drivers, shop keepers, or others. After the invasion the salaries given to university professors were increased, but many felt they were not increased enough to match their efforts. Further, the problem of transportation, the heat in the summer, and the lack of security, forced professors to expend even more money than usual. With the help of some NGOs and the assistance of some professors the Iraqi government created the University Service Law. The main purpose of this new law is to support the professors financially and provide them what they deserve as university professor. The first issue the law fixed, was to increase the compensation university professors receive. The raises ranged between 250 thousand Iraqi Dinar ($200) and 100 thousand Iraqi Dinar (90$) each month. Some professors found these incremental raises to be a joke when compared to the work they do while others believe it to be a good step toward developing the educational system in Iraq. Amar Al-Haarya, a professor at Baghdad University told Alive in Baghdad, The new law is good and bad at the same time. Its good because it can show us a light at the end of the tunnel and its bad because our salaries are still not enough to make us creative. The cost of life in Iraq in general is quite expensive compared to the university professors income.

But it’s also home to a Pedestrian’s Paradise on Chuo-doori St., where each week, the street is blocked off for street performers and the legions of passersby who come to see the spectacle. But one week ago yesterday, the ‘paradise’ was the scene of a horrific stabbing spree that left seven people dead and ten injured. Now the ‘paradise’ is closed, and the city is in mourning. NTD’s Liliana Yap has more. STORY: Tokyo’s Akihabara district, and perhaps the rest of Japan, is still mourning the victims with flowers and prayers. Now Japananese officials have suspended the Pedestrian’s Paradise to prevent copy cat killers. The move was welcomed by some, but others fear it may harm local businesses. [Mr. Izumi, Tokyo Resident]: “I do think that they need to close the street, although I found it regrettable. And I do hope that it would come back.” [Mr. Otsuguro, Security Guard]: “The police have been doing random checks in the area and there are some people who want to do the copy cat crime, so they would like to stop the pedestrian paradise. I think it is good, since it would be easier for the car to pass as well.” [Mr. Takaki, Akihabara Shop Owner]: “Theres both good and bad to suspend the pedestrians paradise. The good thing, it will be quiet, but when it becomes quiet, it might impact the business. It could lower Akihabaras image. And if the image isnt so good, maybe less people come. I feel this way.” Akihabara is a popular tourist destination and a major shopping center for electronics and manga comics. But some residents say they just don’t feel safe here anymore. Japan has a relatively low crime rate, but a series of high-profile murder cases and police scandals in the past decade have shaken public faith in the police and raised concerns over public safety. Tomorrow Nick will write be writing a song and Joe will be talking non-stop about Jessica.” Kathrine laughed. “Your laugh is funny.” Kathrine immediatly stopped. “In a good way.” Kevin said catching his mistake. “Nice save.” Kathrine said. “thank you.” “I had fun today. I don’t think any of us have had a day like this since the divorce. Maybe the concert was a little better for Ana, but that’s about it.” “Well, I’m glad. We had fun too.” “Good, I am just so tired. Thanks again for helping us with the flights. It is huge, you have no idea.” “I don’t mind. Now we have company with us, normally its just the three of us and big Rob. It’ll be fun.” “Yea, definitely.” Kathrine yawned and leaned her head against the window. Kevin brushed his hand against hers. She raised her head and Kevin smiled and held out his hand. Sparring with Bokuto Sticks in the mall

Mall Spar: We bought Bokuto sticks, took them outside the store and fought with them. We got banned from the mall and charged with “Disturbing the Peace”. The security officer confiscated the original version, but another one of my friends was also taping it. They told us that if any evidence of this got published that we would be in serious trouble. Fu?k them, here is the video. Note: I am the guy that runs away. It was supposed to be a nice little spar, but Josh (the other guy) was mad at me, so he went all out. He broke two of my fingers and snapped the kendo stick in half, right on my ass. And yes, Josh says “Sorry” at the end cause he saw that my finger was bent back on itself the wrong way.
